If you’re into the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series or have friends who are, you’ve definitely heard about the epic ship called Percabeth. Now, if the name doesn’t ring a bell, no worries, you’ll still vibe with what I’m about to say. I probably should’ve posted this on August 18th, Percy’s birthday and the official start of Percy and Annabeth’s relationship, but I’ll probably forget by then. Percabeth totally rules, and I bet most fans are with me on this. So, let’s break down how their love story unfolds throughout the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series and The Heroes of Olympus series. Let’s dive in!

Not literally.
Percy Jackson and Annabeth Chase have weathered countless challenges together. The story of these star-crossed demigods starts in The Lightning Thief.
The Lightning Thief: So, like, this is when Percy and Annabeth first meet. And I’m pretty sure that Percy said that Annabeth looks like a princess. Then they go on a quest, with Grover (poor Grover, being the third wheel and all). Then Annabeth uses Percy’s trademark nickname: Seaweed Brain. Percy also calls Annabeth, Wise Girl.

The Sea of Monsters: Percy and Annabeth embark on another adventure with Tyson, creating opportunities for friendship and teamwork. Annabeth’s revelation of her fatal flaw strengthens the trust between them. Percy’s heroic act of saving Annabeth from the Sirens shows his caringness ( I realize that’s not a word, but I couldn’t really think of anything else) for Annabeth. And then, at Circe’s island, Annabeth says that she’s glad Percy’s not a guinea pig after she saved him. Then Annabeth kisses Percy on the cheek when they win a chariot race at camp!

The Titans Curse: Percy and Annabeth share a slow dance as they watch over Nico and Bianca di Angelo. Percy begins to panic at the thought of Annabeth joining the Hunters of Artemis. It’s when Annabeth disappears that Percy realizes his deep feelings for her. Aphrodite reveals to him that Annabeth may have feelings for him as well.

The Battle of the Labyrinth: So, Annabeth is suddenly the leader of a quest with Percy, Grover, and Tyson tagging along. Right before a fight with the Telekhines, Annabeth gives a kiss on Percy, supposedly for good luck. Yet, it seems like nothing really comes of it. Could it be because Annabeth still holds a torch for Luke, or maybe because Percy can’t seem to stop himself from flirting with Rachel Elizabeth Dare? And to top it all off, Percy also finds himself drawn to Calypso.

The Demigod Files: Percy and Annabeth watch the Fourth of July fireworks together.
The Last Olympian: Percy and Annabeth fight against Kronos when he attacks New York. Annabeth gets stabbed by a dagger and saves Percy’s life because the dagger was aimed at the small of his back which is his weak point after going into the River Styx and having the Curse of Achilles. At the end, on Percy’s birthday, they both have “the best underwater kiss of all time.” (ahh!!! Cuteness overload! And it’s on Percy’s birthday!)

The Demigod Diaries: Percy and Annabeth have a romantic dinner in Paris. (Too cute!)

The Son of Neptune: Percy’s amnesia only allows him to remember one person: Annabeth. It’s absolutely adorable!
The Mark of Athena: Percy and Annabeth finally reunite after being separated for months. Annabeth tells Percy that she loves him after he saves her from Octavian. And then Percy says that he and Annabeth are never going to be apart. Never again.

The House of Hades: Percy and Annabeth conquered the most treacherous place for demigods and mortals, Tartarus. Their secret? Each other. As the first and second individuals to escape alive, they’ve set an unprecedented standard. Well, technically, Nico might have snuck in before being imprisoned in a bronze jar. So, kudos to Nico for the “pioneer” title. Nevertheless, Percy and Annabeth braved Tartarus and emerged victorious. And alive.

The Blood of Olympus: Percy and Annabeth take on Gaea alongside the Greek and Roman demigods. How many wheels? We’ve got the likes of Will Solace, Nico, Reyna, Dakota, Tyson, and Coach Hedge, just to name a few. As if their senior year at high school isn’t enough excitement, Percy and Annabeth headed to New Rome University before spending time at Camp Jupiter (exciting, right?). Oh, and there’s a little bit of Pernico. Nico used to have a thing for Percy, but now he’s not quite Nico’s type. Annabeth even gave Nico a high-five for it when he told them about his no-longer-active crush on Percy.
So, Percy and Annabeth have overcome numerous challenges. They’ve faced attacks from Greek, Roman, and Egyptian (should I add Norse as well? Cause they were in the Magnus Chase books as well…probably not.) gods, with Percy even being possessed by Nekhbet in the cross-overs. They bravely defended Manhattan from Kronos’s attack and fought in the war against Gaea and her children. Although they weren’t involved in the war against Nero, they’ve been through more than enough. Now, they’re navigating the daunting college admissions process and seeking recommendation letters from the gods. Their journey has taken them to Tartarus and back, and now they’re heading to New Rome University! This is a significant achievement for Percabeth, who have had unimaginable quests. And that brings us to the end of this blog! Until next time, readers!
