The Reappearance of Rachel Price

This book came out on April 2nd. I totally forgot and was going through Goodreads for something to read, like, 3 days ago. And then I saw this book. I was like,“Hmmm. Maybe I should try it.” I mean, Holly Jackson’s A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder (AGGGTM) was really good. So I read it. And here’s my review:

This book just kept getting better and better my jaw was dropping every chapter towards the end. It was plot twist after plot twist.

𝐁𝐞𝐥:
So Bel was the main character and the book was through her point of view.Basically her mom who she didn’t even properly know disappeared “16” years ago. I guess it must be weird welcoming back a mystery disappeared woman. Who’s your mom. Who you don’t even know that well. I liked how Holly created parallels and although she wasn’t as quick witted or as smart as Pip (from AGGGTM) she showed similar characteristics. AND THE PARALLEL BETWEEN (BEL AND ASH) TO (PIP AND RAVI). Although Bel and Ash weren’t as strong of a relationship. Just saying.

𝐑𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐥:
You know that saying ‘mother like daughter’. Literally. Bel looks (and sounds, and everything) like her mom, Rachel. That’s what first came to my mind and I think Holly was trying to highlight this point.I mean they are both so alike in voice and in thinking. I felt so so bad after I found out the whole story.(no spoilers) I’m glad they got a happy ending (although I wasn’t expecting one).

Grandma:

I love what Bel called Grandma in the beginning of the book. It was mean but hilarious. Bel is very sassy.

I WAS NOT EXPECTING THAT ENDING AT ALL. At the start I was making up my own assumptions thinking I was so smart but no. Apparently I’m no Pip. (If you didn’t get that reference, I suggest you read my AGGGTM review here) It was the most unlikely person ever and the clues was amazing like I would have never thought of that at all.

Overall I loved this book and I was not disappointed. Holly Jackson is one of the authors I will always trust to write an amazing book.
