I’ll go first: Don’t judge a book by its cover.
Ok. Confession time! I pick a lot of my books based on a cover. I know. I know. You guys are probably freaking out, thinking,“How could a great reader and reviewer like Aaradhyaa judge a book by its cover? That’s like the first thing they teach us! Don’t judge a book by its cover!”
Don’t panic! DON’T PANIC!!! *people rush by, panicking* EEEEK!!
Anyways, jokes aside. I do judge books based on the covers. But my reviews are not biased by this, I promise. When I go to the library, I look for books with a good cover or an interesting name. (I guess I judge a book by its cover and its name). Cause, like, it would take forever to go through every single book for just one good one. For example: I got a book from the library called, Six Truths and a Lie. It looks really interesting. But when I started reading it, I couldn’t really, get into the book, You know what I mean? Well, onto my next quirky reading habit.
1. Ever read those scenes in books where you slammed the book shut or almost threw it across the room?
For example: I thought One of Us is Lying was a good book. It looked like it. I open the book. I look at the first chapter. And here’s how I reacted (btw, this is from a meme I saw in Pinterest):
*slams book shut*
“When I open this again I’d better not read what I thought I just did”
Now, I will not believe anyone if they say they’ve never had this kind of moment. Ohhhh, we ALLLL have those moments! Usually the scenes are too cringy. The question is, what book did it happen in, for you? Be sure to let me know in comments what books that gave you this reaction!
And our last one for now:
2. What was a book that ‘stayed with you’ even to this day?
(I would give you more books, but the list is pretty long)
Umm, I think for me, I would say it’s Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief. It’s the book that got me into reading, if you know what I mean. It’s the book that got me interested in reading. And if it weren’t for that book, I wouldn’t be writing this review or even this blog.
Another book, might be Looking For Alaska. That book. Tore. My. Heart. I’m not even joking. It was so so sad! I started crying. My parents and friends are witnesses! They will testify! Anyways, that’s another book I’ll never forget. Probably because I have never cried so much over a book before.
Be sure to let us know what your reading quirks are! And what books answer the questions above, for you?
XOXO
