Hey guys! As you can probably tell by the title I’m going to reacting to you guys’ (by you guys, I mean people in general not you, the readers) unpopular Percy Jackson opinions. Meaning one or two star reviews. Which I don’t know how that’s possible because Percy Jackson is amazing, but that could just be me. Let’s get started!
“This book was SO BAD THAT I AM GOING TO GO AND DISLIKE EVERY REVIEW THAT CLAIMS IT WAS GOOD, OR EVEN SUFFICIENT. Just UGH. Writing sucked and the characters were generic and lifeless. The book just tries so hard to be a harry potter copycat. Percy just fights monsters and almost dying and that’s it. By the way, in every chapter there are weird monsters and it gets repetitive and tiring. Conclusion: if you want to lose braincells and rip out your hair out of abject frustration, then this is the book for you!”
Ok, person. I can see that you absolutely hated the book. BUT. It. Is. Not. A. Harry. Potter. Copycat! Sure, they have a trio that’s similar (the smart one, the rash and stupid one, the funny one) but guess what. A lot of other books have that trio as well! BUT. Percy Jackson is based on Greek Mythology. Harry Potter has wizards. With wands. They have different types of magic. Percy Jackson just has powers. Harry Potter has magic with spells and wands and stuff. As a person who read both sagas and loved them both (Hufflepuff, Child of Athena. – I took both official quizzes) These two sagas are different, the only reason people say they are the same is because its a young boy who is fighting for the fate of his world with his friends. But, being the open minded person I am, I will say: I respect your opinion, person who wrote this review.
“Really boring and unoriginal
At first I loved it, but then I had to force myself to finish it. Percy is way too powerful” —Yeah, he’s powerful probably because he’s the son of Poseidon (aka one of the most powerful gods)? I thought that was obvious!—“and the story is a drag. Annabeth is really mean and annoying and I don’t get why other campers look up to her. Don’t read if you want to keep your braincells”
It’s just hilarious how the last person also said that this book made him lose his braincells. But this book teaches people about Greek Mythology so shouldn’t it be adding braincells….???
“this book is awesome WOW AND THEIR ARE ADVENTURES . THIS BOOK HELP CHILDREN TO BE CREATIVE AND IMAGIATIVE”
Um… This review was marked with one star…
So, is it supposed to be sarcastic or is it actually complimenting the book? I seriously cannot tell. I mean, there aren’t any exclamation marks so… I don’t know. But if it’s being sarcastic: sir, this books is for middle schoolers. So it’s supposed to be imagiative (he forgot the ‘n’ in imaginative). It’s not YA. Just saying in case you didn’t realize.
“This book was very disappointing. Please don’t read this. It’s only good for torturing yourself.”
Ok, then if it’s torture, why are you reading it? Read something that isn’t torture for you! I’m very concerned. Like, no one is forcing you to read the book. If it’s for school, you could use CliffsNotes or something!
“I likd da prt wen he frows da watr powrs at da bad gi and wen da mommee trns da meen gi into ston 8 strs wud rek0mend”
translation (I think it’s right?): “I liked the part when he throws the water powers at the bad guy and when the mommy turns the mean guy into stone, 8 stars would recommend.”
I don’t know what’s up with this one. It looks like a four year old typed it. But four year olds can’t read the book, right? Also, if this person likes the books so much, why did they rate it one star?
“I HAD TO READ THIS FOE SCHOOL I HATE IT WITH A PASHON”
Ok, lady. First of all, you’re not a gangster. So you can stop speaking (typing) like one. It’s ‘for’ not ‘foe’ and ‘passion’ not ‘pashon’. Just saying. Also, like I said before, you could have just used CliffsNotes. You didn’t have to read it if you didn’t like it!
“it had a bogger when i opened the first page”
I think this person is saying there was a booger on the first page. That’s disgusting. I feel very sorry for you.
And that’s it for today. I will be back soon. I might just start a series like this. Reading unpopular reviews on books. Maybe A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder next. Maybe. To be continued churro….
XOXO
