Book Review : Aru Shah and the End of Time

Here I am with another book review. I read this book last year . Aru Shah has a habit of stretching the truth in order to fit in at school. While her classmates are jetting off to family vacations in exotic locales, she’ll be spending her autumn break at home, in the Museum of Ancient Indian Art and Culture, waiting for her mom to return from her latest archeological trip. Does it make sense why Aru makes up stories about being royalty, traveling to Paris, and having a chauffeur? A couple of her classmates come over to the museum to prove that she was lying. Aru realizes that she is a reincarnation of one of the Pandavas and the son (or daughter, it depends on which way you look at it) of a god in her previous birth. Along with her Pandava sister Mini, she sets out to correct a wrong she committed to save the world from destruction in nine days. Aru Shah will do anything to find out the truth about her family and her past. She will go from heaven to the Underworld if she has to. I really liked this book. This book displays sisterhood and comedy. A fun adventure with a very Percy Jackson feel. Aru is a great heroine, smart, sassy, determined, and especially mouthy. I appreciate very much that the book had a satisfactory ending while it’s still left open with a cliffhanger. This book also helps kids learn Hindu Mythology. And if you’re already familiar with it, then I bet you will learn something new. I learned about the Hindu mythological figures/gods, like Urvashi and Hanuman. I learned about monsters, like nagini and rakshas. I learned about the divine astras– maces, bows, swords etc. This book is very entertaining and educational. I recommend this book to people who like mythology, and people who are 10 years and above. I’m really glad Roshani Chokshi wrote this book. I will write review for her next book “Aru Shah and the Song of Death”, By the way, if you missed my previous review about “They both die at the end“, then please read here.
