2 days until our Seaweed Brain’s (Percy Jackson) birthday!

If you’ve read the Percy Jackson books you know that Percy’s Birthday is in 2 days. Technically I should have started the countdown 7 days ago but…stuff happened. I was very busy guys! Honest. Anyways if you’ve read the books you also know that August 18th is also Percabeth’s anniversary! Since I haven’t done the 9 days countdown, I’ll give you 8 facts about Percy Jackson. The last fact will come tomorrow!

Fact #1: Grover is not Percabeth’s #1 third wheel, that title actually belongs to Riptide because it is actually a sentient (for those who haven’t read Magnus Chase it means that it is basically alive and has feelings.) Riptide is also a girl.

Fact #2: People think Percy’s eyes are blue, but they’re actually sea green.

Fact #3: Tyson’s presence is why monsters didn’t really attack Percy in the school year between Lightning Thief and Sea of Monsters. (excuse my sobs in the background, Percy and Tyson are my favorite siblings; aside for maybe Bianca and Nico)

Fact #4: Percy’s relationship with Sally parallels his namesake (Perseus)’s relationship with his own mother whom he loved dearly.

Fact #5: When Percy first met Aphrodite, he saw a glimpse of his mother and then she turned into Annabeth as they are the women he cares about and loves most. (I think he even saw an actress he liked when he was in 5th grade…)

Fact #6: This is about Grover and Percy’s empathy link. We all know that they are connected (best friend goals), but I don’t think any of us actually give it much thought as it is not really mentioned in other books (other than Sea of Monsters). I think that the empathy link shows us just how much trust Percy and Grover have in each other as they *could* have abolished it if they wanted to, but chose to keep it. This way, they can always (well, not when it’s blocked) find each other

Fact #7: Percy has always felt somewhat responsible for Nico because he didn’t keep his promise to him about Bianca (ouch).

Fact #8 (Today’s fact): Percabeth (Kind of…) fact!!!! Annabeth probably doesn’t know that Percy and Rachel kissed because Charles Beckendorf was the only witness and Percy asked him not to tell Annabeth (and even if Charlie wanted to, he couldn’t have 😭), so there’s that!
