It’s been forever! I know, I know, I’m a terrible person for abandoning y’all! I’m sorry. Anyways, I’ve been reading a new book that I’ve heard a lot of people talking about. It’s called zodiac academy. The summary:
You have been selected to attend Zodiac Academy, where your star sign defines your destiny.
If you’re one of the Fae, elemental magic is in your blood. And apparently it’s in ours. As twins born in the month of Gemini, we’re a rare breed even in this academy of supernatural idiots.
Changelings were outlawed hundreds of years ago but I guess our birth parents didn’t get the memo. Which means we’re totally unprepared for the ruthless world of Fae.
Air. Fire. Water. Earth.
No one has ever harnessed all four of them, until we arrived. And it hasn’t made us any friends so far.
As the rarest Elementals ever known, we’re already a threat to the four celestial heirs; the popular, vindictive bullies who happen to be some of the most attractive guys we’ve ever seen. It doesn’t help that they’re the most dangerous beasts in the Academy. And probably on earth too.
Our fates are intertwined, but they want us gone. They’ve only got until the lunar eclipse to force us out and they’ll stop at nothing to succeed.
We never knew we had a birthright to live up to but now that we do, we intend to claim our throne.
We can’t expect any help from the faculty when it comes to defending ourselves. So if the dragon shifters want some target practice, the werewolves want someone to hunt or the vampires fancy a snack then we have to be ready. But we’ve been looking after each other for a long time and fighting back is in our blood.
Today’s horoscope: totally screwed.
*******
Imagine wandering into a universe where your star sign holds the key to your destiny, only to discover that this fate comes with a gaggle (herd…idk) of supernatural bullies whose favorite pastime is plotting your not-so-dramatic demise. That’s the delightfully chaotic scenario our twins find themselves in at Zodiac Academy—forget your typical teasing; we aren’t talking name calling and stuff…its basically attempted murder.
The Awakening, the first book in the Zodiac Academy series, was a fantastic read from start to finish. It started off slow when I began but as the story went on, I found myself immensely interested in the world Tory and Darcy found themselves in. This book was a very fast-paced, interesting read as it went on. And I found myself feeling for Tory and Darcy so much as they went through a lot once they arrived at Zodiac Academy.
What I truly adored about this first book in the Zodiac Academy series is the brilliantly immersive world that the main characters inhabit. I experienced pure delight in uncovering the intricate layers of the academy and the mesmerizing four elements, all while witnessing the students showcase their skills with pride in their respective Orders. The enchanting magic woven through the pages captivated my very bookish soul, fueling an irresistible desire to plunge deeper into its marvels. Despite the hurdles the characters faced, I loved every insight into this extraordinary school and the diverse array of individuals who made it their home. Each character, bursting with their own vibrant personality, pulled me further into their gripping tales, transforming my reading experience into something profoundly enriching.
I really loved how this book switched between Tory and Darcy’s perspectives. Since they’re the main characters in this unfamiliar world, it was awesome to see how amazed they were by everything around them and the magic bubbling inside them. Plus, it was fun reading about a couple of twins who were super easy to tell apart because of their different personalities and how they dealt with their crazy situation. You could totally see how tight-knit they were, especially since they only had each other to lean on while growing up. I really appreciated that, especially considering how tough the Heirs made things for them at school!
Speaking of the Heirs, I found myself feeling both intrigued and put off by them throughout this book. While they may be presented as interesting antagonists, I can’t help but question whether they truly offer any depth worth exploring. Their upbringing might provide some insight into their behavior, but it feels like a stretch to think that understanding them could justify their actions throughout The Awakening. In reality, all four seem like profoundly flawed individuals who certainly don’t deserve the privileges they enjoy. Although I was initially curious about their backgrounds, I found myself more eager to watch Darcy and Tory confront them for their reprehensible treatment of others they considered beneath them.
THE CHARACTERS:
TORY AND DARCY VEGA: I love u two so much! All i want to say is: they literally symbolize girl power. Which i respect, obviously. I admire the fact Tory and Darcy are such a badass. And I love how much they love each other.

DARIUS: You bully! I love you but I hate you! You’re sending my girl, Tory, mixed signals! You messed with the Vegas! Are you insane!? Do you have a death wish!? BUT at the same time you seem…nice. Idk why. And i admire the fact you are a dragon. That’s really cool. Also, the fan art? ↙️ *passes out*

CALEB: yes dude! I love you but i hate you too. This is the way it’s gonna be with all the Heirs. I love em but i hate em too. Caleb I hate because he’s heir obviously. But….he’s a vampire. I find vampires very cool. Don’t ask. Don’t judge.

MAX AND SETH: it’s the same with you two. Seth is cool. I like him. He’s a werewolf. Which is also cool. Max is a siren. Which i like. It would be cool to be siren…if it weren’t for Washer (iykyk) (also ew. I hate Washer. He’s weird)

Lance Orion: DUDEEEEEEEE!!! I CANT TELL IF YOU’RE ON THE HEIR’S SIDE OR THE VEGA’S SIDE!? See, he likes Darcy but he’s Darius’s guardian so…also this guardian bond stuff is also very cool.

GERALDINE: she’s the best friend i never i had. She seems so funny and loyal. The perfect best friend. I LOVE YOU, GERRY! ASS 4EVER! (y’know the Almighty Sovereign Society! What did you think I meant?)

SOFIA: ILY BABE! UR THE SWEETEST GIRL EVER! AND SO SMART! AND UR A PEGASUS! *faints*

Anyways that’s all I have to say for this book. So I hope you guys have a fantabulous day and I’ll see you in my next review! Bye!
XOXO
