Heyyyyy guyssssss! So I just finished Iron Flame and I’m starting Onyx Storm now! And guys that ending was, like, SHOCKING. I am shooketh to the core. I was NOT expecting that to happen. Like I was crying. I don’t know if I’ve made this clear or not, guys but I love Xaden Riorson. Me and him are besties forever and ever (we’re gonna ignore the fact this is the most single sided friendship this world has ever seen 😭 but I suppose this is what my life has come to now). But yea let’s get right into it!

Everyone expected Violet Sorrengail to die during her first year at Basgiath War College―Violet included. But Threshing was only the first impossible test meant to weed out the weak-willed, the unworthy, and the unlucky.

Now the real training begins, and Violet’s already wondering how she’ll get through. It’s not just that it’s grueling and maliciously brutal, or even that it’s designed to stretch the riders’ capacity for pain beyond endurance. It’s the new vice commandant, who’s made it his personal mission to teach Violet exactly how powerless she is–unless she betrays the man she loves.

Although Violet’s body might be weaker and frailer than everyone else’s, she still has her wits―and a will of iron. And leadership is forgetting the most important lesson Basgiath has taught her: Dragon riders make their own rules.

But a determination to survive won’t be enough this year.

Because Violet knows the real secret hidden for centuries at Basgiath War College―and nothing, not even dragon fire, may be enough to save them in the end.

So first I must make it clear. I don’t hate people easily. Not even book characters. My most hated book characters: Max Hastings and Lionel Acrux. I think they’re the only ones. But there were a few characters I hated a lot in this book. First of all, Varrish. That lil idiot, killed 3 cadets during the interrogation part. Like, brother that was a class! I don’t think you were actually supposed to kill them! Maybe just hurt them a lot and then get them kill!? WhY dId yOu KiLl ThEm!?!? And then, he broke a lot of Violet’s bones and hurt her a lot and then kept getting her mended just so he could make it hurt even more! He is SUCH a sadistic little idiot who deserves to be thrown across the whole dam Continent (yes i used the pjo pun iykyk <3)

Anyways off the topic off the people I hate.

Tairn: He is hilarious and so sarcastic like he’s practically me as a dragon lollll! But I love how he always supports Violet, Andarna, and Sgaeyl unwaveringly. And he so badass.

“Should I get the wingleader?” Tairn to Violet Sorrengail

” A Mammoth Red-Horned Tortoise and absolutely not! The shell will embed between your teeth and I will not carry you and a festering tortoise shell- Get back here!” Tairn to Andarna.

Andarna: She’s hilarioussss! And she’s such a snappy little adolescent! Like i applaud you for the sass. And she’s so strong and self-confident and i love it!

“Andarnaurram. Andarna for short”

Ridoc (i think the one on the most right): I’m not even gonna lie, Ridoc is kinda underrated! But he can like wield ICE. Sure, its common but it’s literally so cool! And he’s also protective of his friends and a comic relief. So Tairn’s the sassy part of me brough to life and Ridoc is basically ME. And not to mention the fact is that he’s as tragically hilarious and gorgeous as me LOL

Violet (on ridoc’s left): She’s still the witty person she was in the last book. And I’m quite envious of her powers, like, controlling lightning?! She’s so smart I truly admire her lol! She’s like my idol now.

Sawyer (on violet’s left): Ok I’m not even gonna lie, I love Sawyer. (and yes I do judge people based on their names. Like a Nick would be giving good vibes and a Max be giving not-so-good vibes. A Sawyer also gives very good vibes). He’s smart but also like strong. He was nice enough to help Violet in ‘Fourth Wing’ when she wasn’t very good at fighting.

Rhiannon (on the left): She’s so sweet and was Violet’s first friend. And she’s also very smart and is Squad Leader now (too bad Dain’s Wing Leader). She was always there for Violet and vice versa. They were the bestest of friends.

Another person I did like: General Sorrengail. I didn’t like her at all at first. But, she was…very honorable at the end. She had earned all of my respect. She’s a woman who would do anything for her children. She’s a true warrior and I almost cried. General Sorrengail was just trying to help her children. And she was so proud of them even if she didn’t show it.

Ok. Now, this book was so good and I’ve already started reading Onyx Storm. And literally it’s been so long since I’ve loved a character/s this much! Like maybe since maybe the Inheritance Games or even PJO. I read PJO when I was SEVEN. But I love(d) Liam, Violet, Xaden yk the whole group. The fact they’re not real genuinely hurts. Is that normal?! I dont think that’s normal 😭

Anyways that’s it for now! I am off reading Onyx storm now! (Guys side note: i cannot get over Xaden’s eyes. they’re repeatedly called ‘onyx with golden flecks’ so there must be a reason this book is called ‘Onyx storm.’ Could it be bcs of the…yk the rings around his eyes? iykyk. But honestly its so…ugh i have so many theories but i can’t say without spoiling the book! But honestly I need to meet a guy like him one day. I am going to literally cry if I dont at least a bsf like him but anyways XD)
